Dua Lipa the English performer and songwriter, was born in London, on the 22nd of August 1995. After being a model for a fashion magazine, she decided to join Warner Bros Records and release her debut album. The album climbed to number 3 on the U.K. Charts and produced 8 singles. They included Be The One I.D.G.A.F and the U.K. Number One single New Rules as well as the U.K. No. 1 single New Rules. Lipa has been awarded her Brit Awards in 2018 for British Female Solo Artist, and British Breakthrough Act, and her album was certified platinum in a variety of countries. Her family tree can be tracked back to the Kosovo city of Peja. Two of Lipa's grandfathers are historians. Lipa is the younger sister of Rina Lipa, and has an older brother called Gjin. Lipa's father, the guitarist and lead singer of Kosovan group Oda was a major influence on her music. Her father played music at home, including songs by David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead The Police Stereophonics. Lipa began to sing when she was just five years old. In the year she turned nine years old, she began singing in The Sylvia Young Theater School. Lipa has recorded her song If I'm Got You from Alicia Keys and Beautiful by Christina Aguilera, for YouTube. In 2014, Lipa was signed to a contract with Warner Bros. Records. Her debut single New Love was released in August of 2015.
