Alia Shawkat has been a TV actress for over 20 many years. Alia was born 18th April 1989, in Riverside California. She was Maeby as Maeby in the Fox show Arrested Development, a part that won her TV Land Future Classic Award. She was in Whip It along with Ellen Page. From 2001 to 2004, Shawkat played Hannah in State of Grace. Shawkat portrayed Maeby Funke throughout the entire run of Arrested development from 2003 until 2018, as part of its regular cast. The series was greeted with mostly positive reviews with Shawkat's performance sometimes being singled out as a highlight. The pop-culture journalist Brian M. Palmer remarked that she was among the brightest lights in a series dominated by bright lights and Scott Weinberg of eFilmCritic described her as an extremely funny young lady. In an interview on The A.V. Shawkat noted in the year 2010 at the A.V. Club that a lot of the most memorable moments she had as an actor were on the Arrested set. The actress received plenty of praise and recognition for her character.
