sylvester stalloneSylvester Stallone was born on July 6, 1946 as Michael Sylvester Gardenzio Stallone in Hell's Kitchen, Manhattan. He is the older child of the Italian born Francesco "Frank" Stallone Sr, a hairdresser, and Jackie Stallone, an astrologer and dancer. Frank Stallone is his younger brother and actor. Due to complications in the birth of Sylvester, his lower left side was crippled. This led to the famed "snarling" and slurred speech and distinctive look. Stallone was a part of his early years in foster care as a result of the volatile relationship between parents and children. In the end, the couple divorced. Stallone studied drama at American College in Switzerland, before moving to the University of Miami. The actor left Miami before finishing his studies and moved to New York City to pursue acting as a career.
